Company founder Shelly Azar has worked with companies large and small, public and private, in the U.S. and abroad. Her experience comes from her work as a consultant and her background as a practitioner in the corporate headquarters of global firms.

About Shelly Azar

In 1996, while working in the headquarters of a publicly traded global software firm, my boss asked me to create an Info Center for the company: a centralized place where all sales and marketing employees could turn to learn about customer applications, competitor threats, industry trends, market opportunities and the like.

I received training to hone my research skills and started creating “alerts,” “competitor snapshots,” and other briefing documents that provided analysis and recommendations to decision-makers about relevant issues.

Starting that Info Center was the first in a series of opportunities that I had to create a competitive/market intelligence function for companies in industries as varied as software, electronics and prepaid cards.

Though the industries and needs of each company were different, my mission was always to deliver the kinds of analysis and intelligence that would enable the firms to make strategic and tactical decisions based upon customer needs, market analysis, and an understanding of the competitor landscape and other issues which could impact competitiveness.

In 2010 I started Insight Researchers. I am passionate about my work because I love to partner with clients, understand their needs, and identify the best ways to provide the intelligence they need to make their decisions. I get fully invested in my work and always strive to exceed a client’s expectations.
