Shelly Azar is actively involved with these local and international professional associations.
The Association of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP) serves independent business owners in information-related professions. Shelly is now serving on the executive board as secretary (2015-2018). Earlier she served as the chair of the mentoring committee (2011-2014).
In addition to leading workshops and webinars for the association, she started and manages a successful local group in St. Louis (2012-present) and has led various other initiatives including running a membership survey (2016).
The St. Louis Product Management Group is a non-profit focused on product management and related topics. Its signature event is the annual, one-day “unconference,” ProductCamp St. Louis, which is geared for anyone who develops, designs, markets or manages a product or service. Shelly has been a founding board member and has served as treasurer since 2015.
Shelly has also been a key player in restarting a St. Louis chapter of Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP). Through substantive workshops and informal networking lunches the local group provides a forum for practitioners and others who are interested in learning more about competitive intelligence.
